I haven’t really looked at this thing in a while and it appears it was starting to get rusty as some of our plugins were needing some updating. Rest assured if you are the one person that clicks the Facebook like button on our posts, it is working again.
Website-keeping aside, although we haven’t been playing a lot of shows in the past *gasp* three *end-gasp* months there has been some calculated activity going on with the band. First of all, as you may know Sean departed from the band after our previous show in October however in December we fortunately found our new drummer Rodrigo! We’ve been busy practicing away (except over Xmas…some of us went home for the holidays) and should be ready to perform again in a month or so. Needless to say it will be as soon as possible because we can’t wait!
We hope your new year has been a pleasure so far and if you are the kind of person that reads lists of things about last year you should check out the list of Best of 2011 by Snob’s Music which includes a generous mention of our album Future Nights which was reviewed back in July.
Finally you should check out the remix I put together for the new Box of Wolves single Hearts. If you haven’t heard of Box of Wolves definitely make an effort as it is the brainchild of our good friend Gabriel who you may know from all of the fantastic artwork and videos he has created for Sexy Mathematics over the years.
How about a free song download? How about No Communication? Don’t forget if you like what you hear you can also pick up our album on iTunes or Bandcamp!
This past month has been CRAZY…just not really related to the band. I was busy moving to a new place, Tab is halfway through her voyage to Europe and Sean has recently resigned from drum duties. Thankfully, as far as I know, everything is a-okay with Brian. If you would like to be our new drummer, or know someone that does, please inquire within.
Other than that it looks like we have a new show coming up on October 28 @ Rancho Relaxo, which will unfortunately be Sean’s last. Stay tuned for more details!
Also don’t forget you can request us on your local community/college radio station. We have been getting some love on the !earshot charts and could always use more of your help!
The past few weeks have been fantastic including performances at Lee’s Palace and Rancho Relaxo as well as seeing ourselves move up the charts in Hamilton to #14! I have never had a song (or album) chart on anything in my life so this is exciting news.
Friday September 9th we have one last performance at Duffy’s in Toronto before we hibernate for a few weeks while Tab discovers Europe. We do hope to see you there; especially if we have not yet had the opportunity to be graced by your presence.
On that note, I give you Simple Games, another free download off our album Future Nights. Enjoy:
So normally I go weeks trying to think of things to post however these past couple of weeks have been crazy busy and filled with action! Most notably our new album Future Nights was officially released on August 1st and you can now find it on iTunes and Bandcamp. Since being released we are apparently charting at #21 on Indi 101, a college radio station in Hamilton, and are super excited.
In addition to the good vibes we’ve been getting on this side of the country we were also pleased to be featured back at home in Saskatoon’s Ominocity with an interview I did in July. Shortly thereafter we followed up with a fantastic show hosted by Gold Soundz last Thursday.
On a final note have a listen to the new Courtship EP by Box of Wolves, the brainchild of Gabriel Akinrinmade, whose talent extends beyond the phenomenal album covers he has provided us over the years.
